page. I didn't remember her telling me, but it must have stayed lodged

shimrod, brojek, VK; I could NEVER begin to compete with you nightowls.
I think the longest I've stayed awake is 48 hours. And the longest that
I've been coherent is about 14 minutes.

Shimrod and VK; yes, it's an amusing thought to have a llizardskin bag.
But PLEASE wait for my demise! There's only one llizard (as far as I know)

VK; I guess I missed what forbidden substance you and Shimrod were
talking about. I don't usually have forbidden substances (except
the ones that are forbidden here in this room - I have LOTS of that)

VK and Shimrod; In fact, I remember the first time I ever smelled pot. I
was at a party and people were handing a pipe around. I was so naive
that I thought they couldn't afford to buy a pipe each and were sharing
their tobacco. (Have I mentioned that I can be rather dense?) When
the pipe was handed to me, I passed it on saying, "No thanks, I don't
smoke" The reply was "Cool" and that was it. It wasn't until I got home
that I realized that the tobacco had a very odd smell....

Shimrod and VK; and I went out with a guy who was HAD to smoke weed
before going to concerts. He smoked every day - a lot.

VK; Those substances are illegal here too but I think they are very
common and easily grown/purchased. Personally, I loathe the smell of
weed.

tests, I always made one dumb mistake.)

woke you up. (You really have been burning the candle at both ends)

VK; And the weed head constantly ascerted that he WASN'T addicted to
weed and could stop ANY time....

THornn; I remember a rather complex math exam that I took in grade 12.
I got 99% so was really not paying much attention the class after we
got our exams handed back, as the teacher went
over each question in minute detail for the rest of the class. Suddenly
I heard my name called out and the question: "3 plus 8 comes to?" I
replied "ll" The teacher said "Aha!!!" and then I looked down
at my exam paper to see where it was I lost my 1%....

Thornn; Hurrah! So that means you got 99%!

Shimrod; I seem to recall using that argument with this obstinant fellow.
I haven't seen him in years. No doubt he is still smoking like a maniac,
still claiming not to be addicted and has lost a few more brain cells....

brojek; I knew a fellow who used a basket ball timer as an alarm clock
and it STILL didn't wake him up.

VK; Until a couple of days ago, I could almost sit on it. But I cut
off about 6cm so now it is at the small of my back.

Shimrod; by that criterium, _I'm_ a heavy drinker!!  Most of my friends
would be amazed to hear that. (I'm abstemious in comparison to them!)

Shimrod; I don't think I fall into that category. I MIGHT have 6
alcoholic beverages on a given day in one year.

Shimrod; I'm sure the statistics are similar for Canada. (Possibly
more alcohol is imbibed though)

Shimrod; I did a lot of touring of the country a couple of years ago.
In one of the hotels I stayed in, there was a map of the city with ten
points of interest. Here are the first three:

1.) Beer store
2.) Liquor store
3.) Beer and Liquor store

I'm NOT joking!!!

Shimrod; In the province I live in, alcohol can only be sold in certain
stores. Beer is sold in one store and hard liquor & wine in another store.
I don't know what the reason can be for separating the beer from the
wine & hard liquor.

Shimrod; It depends on the province. I think it's 19 here in Ontario.
But in the province (Alberta) that I grew up in (grew up is a relative
term...) the age is 18.

I've always thought it very bizarre that Americans are considered old
enough to go to war at the age of 18 but not old enough to have
alcohol until they are 21.

shimrod; yes, of course. beer and liquor can be purchased in bars as
long as they are licenced by the province. Up until about 10 years ago
(or was it 20?) one couldn't get any alcohol on a Sunday unless one
bought food as well.

SHimrod; and it is only very recently that the beer and wine stores
have been open for business on a Sunday. (I think it was two years ago
that they started that)

Canada: drink 18/19, sex ? (didn't know there were laws about that),
        drive 16 (probation for one year no matter when licence is
        received), war 18

VK; I just looked at the age of consent page. I'm dumbfounded!

I wonder why it's considered okay for female/female sex at age 14 but
male/male have to wait til 18.... and male/female at 14??? Wow!! When
I think about how UNREADY I was when I was 14!!

You may not pay for a fifty-cent item with only pennies. 
Citizens may not publicly remove bandages.

I think I will go straight out and try to do both of these things and
see if I am arrested.

Shimrod; _and_ I'm going to go to Ottawa on Sunday to do all three things.

(Of course, it will be hard to find something that only cost 50 cents...
inflation....)
