Nu and du are what?
yes... okay, try this.... give me a sec...
JRO >> Why not try llizard's friend: http://www.nada.kth.se/skolverket/swe-eng-t.html
Efter semester, vill nu ...hmmm.... jobbet, Veronika? Ja? Nej?
JRO >> No "semester", just boring stuff. No job.
Well, shit. This thing takes ten minutes to load, and I'm not doing bad, learning Swedish. These damn pages weren't really designed with the right words and syntax I need. What the hell do you 'spect?
It's kind of like English and German.
JRO >> ??? :D:D:D:D (my other chat can handle those strange letters that look like A and O)
"Can't locate server" for that one. I give up. I will learn swedish, another time.
I had a girlfriend from Sweden, back in High School. She was an exchange student.
It ended, after three or four months. I just couldn't marry, at that age... I was just too young.
peeking in.... (I'm not supposed to be here at all!!! I really should be sleeping)
eewgag
JRO >> You don't have to be afraid of the little reptile. She is quite friendly. :)
You would not believe what I just read... it is double eewgagchokpuk
Hmmm... Maybe I will fix this thing, too. If I hang around after the next couple of weeks.
For real fun, you should watch the guy across the road...
For all the years we have lived here, he never mowed that lawn. He's probably in his early fifties; late forties... He lives there, with his old mother, and two or three teenage kids. No wife (easy enough to understand, if you seen him). Used to be a drunk. Anyway, they always let the place grow up nicely. Then some relative drops off this riding lawn mower, with the idea that he could fix it up. I guess he did, but he certainly spent a lot of time, just.... running the motor. Well, later on, a push-lawnmower turned up - I reckon he dragged it in from the dump. He took to mowing the place. And raking. And mowing. And raking. And... and finally, he took to standing around in the front yard, sometimes as much as 6-8 hours a day, leaning on his rake, searching the topography out for a stray bit of twig, loose clod, or the odd piece of grass. Then he'll run to it, and rake it up. He also has a small broom, which he uses to sweep the driveway, and poke things down from the lower limbs of the trees with.
Hi VK Bye JRO (computer very slow right now) [gone]
Now, you know what happens, here, during the 4th of July?
JRO >> Yes... lots of fireworks... party-party-party... etc...
Yes... So, all my kids are here, and the oldest, Adam, he has them all outside, and he's watching the little ones, and they're all shooting fireworks...
The nut is across the street, with his rake a broom, and he's about to die of apoplexy.... The kids are shooting pop-bottle rockets up into the air, and a lot of the papers and little sticks from the remains of the things are going over into his yard. He's going crazy, running from one spot to another, trying to keep up with them all...
JRO >> :D:D:D Why not simply water his lawn thoroughly and ignore it until the next day...?
It doesn't slow the kids down, of course. Adam starts to sort of... put 'em up to it. They're shooting shit across the road, and the nut is getting nuttier by the minute. He finally starts "warning" them, claiming to be as "nice as he can", of course. Then he starts carrying all his collected frag remains to the street, and throwing them over against our fence, whilst shaking his fist.... It don't stop the kids, of course. They had a ball. Oh, he'd like to have come over, and really raised hell. But, well my oldest does things like teach hand-to-hand at the Ranger School, so... Anyway, he just sat there in a chair on the poorch, laughing at this idiot.
No, he couldn't do that. He was outside, at midnight, with a flashlight, looking for bits and pieces. No fooling. Crazy as hell.
He didn't used to be this way... it was the obtaining of an old lawnmower, and a rake that did it to him.
It was too far-out for me, though. I have kids running all over this place. I really don't like having nuts like that around.
I think going out at midnight, to search for firework frags with a flashlight, is just a little off the deep end.
But watching the idiot running back and forth, trying to keep up with the little bits of this and that which fell over onto his precious (since this year, anyway) yard, was about hilarious.
JRO >> Yes, definitely. They will still be there in the morning.
Shit. I will have to work, 12 or 16 hours, today. I need to go to bed.
Oh no... he got them all. After midnight. With a flashlight. Not a one over there, come morning.
JRO >> I meant, the sensible thing to do would be to ignore it and take care of it the next day...
Thanks for the help and ideas on that stupid page. I will try to work on it, later. Maybe I will have it up and working, when you get back. Have a good trip.
