Create /export/install/os
Insert the first Solaris cd (labled 1/2) NOT the webstart cd.
cd /cdrom/<sol version>/s0/Solaris_8/Tools ./setup_install_server /export/install/os/5.8_<version>If you have a slow cdrom-player you'll have to wait many hours because the installation script first runs a du -k on the whole cd to check how much space that will be needed. (why doesn't Sun do that before they burn the cds?)
When it's finished, eject the cd, and insert the second CD (labeled 2 of 2)
cd /cdrom/<sol version>s0/Solaris_8/Tools ./add_to_install_server /export/install/os/5.8_<version>Now the installation is finished and the script should have added a entry to /etc/dfs/dfstab for us.
