FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a tried and true method of transfering files via TCP/IP. Although not initially built with much security in mind, it has later been complemented with encryption through SSL. Ludd's FTP server does not currently support encryption. If you are not situated on the campus network, please, please, consider using SFTP instead! In order to do so, check out the SSH article.
Using FTP to transfer files to/from Ludd
Since FTP clients are numerous these days, no recommendations are given on this page. Google is your friend.
Simply connect to:
not ftp.ludd.ltu.se. The latter is maintained by the administrators and mainly used for mirroring software.
